Olivia Nervo is an Australian musician, DJ, and songwriter who is best known for being one half of the electronic dance music (EDM) duo Nervo, which she formed with her twin sister, Miriam “Mim” Nervo. The duo has written and produced songs for some of the biggest names in the music industry, including Kylie Minogue, Ke$ha, David Guetta, and Afrojack, among others.
Olivia Nervo was born on February 17, 1982, in Ivanhoe, a suburb of Melbourne, Australia. She began playing music at a young age and studied classical piano and music theory. Along with her sister, she later formed a rock band called “The Nervo Twins” and played in clubs around Melbourne.
In 2008, the twins moved to London and started writing and producing music for other artists. They were signed to Sony/ATV Music Publishing and released their first single as Nervo in 2010. The duo quickly gained popularity in the EDM scene and have since performed at major music festivals around the world, including Coachella, Tomorrowland, and Ultra Music Festival.
In addition to her music career, Olivia Nervo is also an advocate for mental health awareness and has spoken openly about her own struggles with anxiety and depression. She and her sister are also involved in philanthropy and have supported organizations such as World Vision, amfAR, and Keep a Child Alive.
During May 2013, the duo participated in the filming of One Life to Live, where they not only performed as DJs but also had dialogue as part of the soap opera scenes. Additionally, on the 29th of November 2013, the duo made an appearance on the sixth episode of Styled to Rock, a TV show. Their profile is also featured in the documentary film Underplayed, released in 2020.
