Meet Dominique Lashawn Clark, better known as Dominique Young Unique.
Rapid-fire raps and high-speed electro club beats are what defines the music of this 28 year-old American #artist and #model.
“I started writing verses when I was 12 and would literally rap to anyone in my neighbourhood that would listen,” she says.
Although 2012 was pretty quiet for her, Dominique was still performing her music live internationally, supporting Scissor Sisters in London and making an appearance at European festivals. Her contract with Sony Records lasted until 2014 and then, in February, she released “Throw it Down” on BBC Radio 1Xtra with production giant DJ Fresh. The debut solo single also became available to stream online. And we keep seeing her collaborate with some of the hottest names in the international music scene! She may be a rising star but names such as Kanye West, Diplo and Cara Delevingne already recognized her talent.
