Peking Duk is a DJ and Producer duo who are based out of Canberra in Australia. They gained attention a few years ago with their song called Passion Pit Bootleg Remix. Their biggest hit has been “High”, a song that reached 5 on the ARIA singles chart and was even triple platinum! Peking Duk has been the main stage for major festivals such as Falls Festival, Spilt Milk, Splendour In The Grass, and Big Day Out.
Surprising as it may be, the group actually started as a trio: Adam Hyde, Reuben Styles, and Mike Axiak. The trio first performed ‘Sammy’s Kitchen’ for their aunt Samantha’s Chinese restaurant. Styles was the bass guitarist for the local indie rock group, Rubycon, from 2007 to 2010. Hyde worked at Sammy’s Kitchen casually and met Styles on the job. Axiak was working as a cleaner in the restaurant when they formed the trio. They performed for a while and eventually decided to separate.
